A LOTR-type fantasy, with five young people leaving their tiny village under the protection of a powerful sorceress (who is an Aes Sedai) and her loyal fighting companion. One of the young people may be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy the world. Many changes were made from the books, which annoyed purists, but I thought that the changes were for the better. Starts slowly and requires attention to interweaving plots.
